Title: Graduate Student
Degree: Master of Science
Thesis: Evaluation of Soil Amendments for Immobilizing Metals in Contaminated Boreal Forest Soils Under Typical Environmental Stresses
Supervisor: Dr. Srimathie Indraratne
Entry: Fall 2025
Research Interests:
Evaluating Amendment Immobilization Capacity and Assessment of Amendment Stability Under Boreal Environmental Stressors
Biography:
I am a MSc student in Soil Science with a background in chemistry. My research focuses on the remediation of heavy-metal-contaminated soils in boreal mining regions using amendments such as biochar and limestone to immobilize cadmium and zinc. I combine soil chemistry, adsorption experiments, and spectroscopic techniques to develop sustainable strategies to restore mine sites.
